Blue Isle Studios is looking for an exceptionally skilled concept artist to join our team. Your focus will be to design characters and environments for a brand new world. Your skills and responsibilities will include creation of concept art and reference materials for the 3D art team, while reporting to the art lead. You must have the creative sense to prototype and gather reference material for your designs.

This is a full or part-time contract position.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with the creative lead to deliver art assets by assigned due dates

  2. Design characters, environments and props

  3. Work with the art lead to conceptualize the overall look and style of the game, including colour and lighting

Requirements

  1. A minimum of 3 years experience creating concept art for videogames

  2. Strong illustration and concept art skills

  3. Thorough understanding of Adobe Photoshop

  4. Self-motivation, good communications skills, and a great team-player attitude

Pluses

  1. A degree or formal art training in illustration, traditional painting or industrial design

  2. Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 and its art pipeline

  3. Experience working with Unity Engine and its art pipeline

Blue Isle Studios offers internships to help aspiring developers gain video game industry experience at a veteran studio. The ideal candidate will be working closely with our QA team to provide feedback and analysis that is meaningful in shipping a quality multiplayer title. They must be able to also communicate professionally and effectively with programmers, designers, artists, team leads and other testers.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop test cases and estimate execution time

  2. Execute tests, capture test results and report issues in JIRA

  3. Help manage the JIRA bug database and raise concerns with team leads

  4. Ensure test documentation and results are maintained

Requirements:

  1. Critical eye for gameplay feedback loops and fun factor

  2. Excellent communication skills

  3. Expert organizational skills

Pluses:

  1. Experience working with Unreal 4 or Unity

  2. Experience working with JIRA issue tracking, Slack and Trello

  3. Experience working with open world multiplayer games

  4. Computer science or related degree

  5. Junior level proficiency in game development field such as art, design and programming
